way of mounting your dual sport mirror without
overcrowding the handlebar. Plus, you get a toughr
lever mount in the process. At $15.95, the price is
right in-line with O.E. stuff. Rating 20 Smart New Tools
& Gizmos. Lets say you are making a
dual-sport bike out of a dirt bike. You will need a mirror
on the machine, maybe two. There are a number of ways to
handle this, but if you Four Strokes Only (FSO)
has a simple, economical, space-efficient solution to the
whole mess. It's a lever bracket cap with a 10mm mirror
mount that costs $15.95. This part can be a big
help if you are making a dirt bike street-legal or if you
have snapped the mirror mount of the clucth lever bracket or
front brake master
Hindsight can be 10mm
want to use the large, vibration-resistant mirrors that come
on factory-built dual-sports, you might run into some
problems. The space for a mount on your bike's
handlebar may already be taken by switches or roll chart
holders. If you want a lever bracket that includes a mirror
mount, you have to pay about $25 for a clutch-lever
bracket with a mount. Hopefully, your lever and cable will
work with the mount. The right side is even tougher. Mirror
mounts are usually part of the front brake
master cylinder, a part that costs more than $100 on most
bikes.
Fortunately, the bolt pattern on most japenese and european
bikes is the same, so the adapter screws right on using the
stock hardware. The machining on the FSO part is
first rate, so it clamps the bracket to the bar properly and
mirrors screw in and out like they should. The only thing
that keeps the FSO mirror adatper from being a perfect
match to some bikes is its silver color, which can look a
little strange if the rest of the lever bracket is black. A
can of spray paint can cure that.
